2015 Executive Briefing

The Value of Water: Building Momentum in 2015

The Foundation held its 32nd Annual Executive Briefing on March 25, 2015.

Top speakers included:
  • DWR Director Mark Cowin
  • Principal Deputy Assistant Interior Secretary Jennifer Gimbel
  • Cal-EPA Undersecretary Gordon Burns
  • California Water Foundation Director Lester Snow

Other panelists include representatives from the urban, business, farming, environmental and public interest water sectors discussing and debating their viewpoints on current water issues.

Topics for discussion included:
  • Long-term Water Management: Living Within Our Means
  • The Sustainable Groundwater Management Act: Steps for Implementation
  • The Water Bond: Who Gets the Money
  • The Salton Sea Question
  • The Delta at a Crossroads: Where Are We Headed?

The annual briefing also included a “silent auction” hosted by the Water Leaders Association, the alumni from the Foundation’s popular Water Leaders Class. Proceeds from the “sale” of donated items provide financial support for the William R. Gianelli Water Leaders Program.
