Secretary Wade Crowfoot will be the keynote speaker at our
2025 Water
Summit where leading experts and top
policymakers will explore how to move forward with critical
decisions despite myriad unknowns facing the West’s most precious
natural resource.
Now in its 41ˢᵗ year, the Foundation’s premier annual event on Oct. 1 in downtown Sacramento will focus on the theme, Embracing Uncertainty in the West. A full agenda featuring a slate of engaging panelists will be available soon, but the day will be filled with lively discussions on topics such as:
- Reckoning with the variability of climate change forecasts
- Managing the Sacramento-San Joaquin Delta with imperfect predictive capacity
- Developments in state & federal water management decisions
- Reflecting on how the West has navigated past uncertainty

Klamath River Tour | Sept.

our first-ever and only Klamath River

examine water issues along the 263-mile Klamath River, from
its spring-fed headwaters in south-central Oregon to its
redwood-lined estuary on the Pacific Ocean in California,

Northern California Tour | Oct. 22-24: This annual tour explores the Sacramento River and its tributaries through a scenic landscape while participants learn about the issues associated with a key source for the state’s water supply. See the status of critical reservoirs for the State Water Project and federal Central Valley Project firsthand, explore farming and environmental water uses, visit the location of the proposed Sites Reservoir, discuss innovations in flood management, groundwater management, salmon restoration and more.
