Description: NORTH COAST EDUCATORS! Join a Project WET hybrid workshop experience that is part at your own pace, part ‘live’ online and begins upon registration.
Our ‘Watersheds to the Sea’ theme will focus this training on exploring standards-based activities and tools to engage your students in the study of local watershed connections to the Pacific Ocean in addition to skills, concepts and teaching practices at the heart of NGSS and Common Core standards.
This training will include an introduction to the use of Project WET standards pools by grade bands as models for using Project WET activities, plus an introduction to local citizen science and stewardship opportunities that would allow students to apply what they learn – whether in class or at home with parents.
The interdisciplinary activities of Project WET include real-life scenarios, use of data and emphasis on critical thinking. Project activities support and expand on existing curriculum and provide strong foundations for STEAM, Project-Based and Service-Learning programs.
Participants will receive a copy of Project WET Guide 2.0, an agenda showing standard connections, free access to the Project WET online Portal, resources for action projects, and an option to receive CEU credits.
