Description: We invite K-12 educators to join us for this very informative groundwater workshop and field trip, where we will be weaving Science and Engineering Practices (SEPs) and Cross Cutting Concepts into engaging content (DCIs) already featured in outstanding and proven curricular tools. We will also tour the Water Replenishment District’s Vander Lans Water Treatment Facility after exploring example lessons to illustrate NGSS Style three-dimensional learning.
The Project WET (Water Education for Teachers) programs are correlated to Next Generation Science and Common Core Standards and are effective tools for integrating student knowledge of water resources through the study of real life scenarios that provide strong foundations for STEAM and Service Learning programs.
Collegial co-planning is built into this workshop to support your CC/NGSS action plan. Lunch, breakfast, and transportation to the field trip site will be provided.
