California Department of Fish and Wildlife: California Beaver Management and Restoration Plan Public Scoping Meeting
The California Department of Fish and Wildlife (CDFW) is hosting two virtual public scoping meetings to gather input on a proposed statewide Beaver Management and Restoration Plan. These meetings aim to inform stakeholders — including the public, Tribes, landowners and restoration practitioners — about the Plan’s goals and to collect feedback. The Plan will focus on beaver conservation and restoration as a strategy to support ecosystem health, water conservation and climate resilience. Key topics include current and historical beaver distribution, ecological benefits, conflict management and research gaps.
