US sets new Colorado River drought plan to take effect in 2027
A new plan for water shortages in the Colorado River Basin will take effect by 2027, replacing 20 year-old guidelines, the Interior Department announced Thursday. A draft of an environmental review of possible ways to manage the Colorado River in 2027 and beyond will be published by the end of 2024, the Bureau of Reclamation said. The review will be supported by a scoping report published Thursday.
