U.S. Drought Monitor Update
From the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) National Climatic Data Center (NCDC):
“According to the February 18, 2014, U.S. Drought Monitor, moderate to exceptional drought covers 35.7% of the contiguous United States, a decrease from last week’s 37.6 %. The worst drought categories (extreme to exceptional drought) increased from 6.9% last week to 7.3%.”
