Last week, the California North Coast Regional Water Quality Control Board adopted an order establishing discharge requirements for commercial lily bulb growers in the Smith River Plain. The order marks a culmination of more than 30 years of struggle to prevent large agricultural interests along the Smith River Plain from polluting the waterway and surrounding area, environmental groups say.
