Rainy season off to a start with light Bay Area showers
The first rainy weather that most Bay Area residents have seen in months marked yet another sign that autumn is in full swing, beyond the cluttered leaves on sidewalks and distinctly darker evening hours. By 5:30 p.m., the rain totals stood at one-tenth of an inch in Oakland, seventeen-hundreths of an inch in San Francisco, three-hundredths of an inch in Concord and just traces of rain in San Jose, according to the National Weather Service. A moderate chance of thunderstorms up north in Butte, Mendocino and Shasta counties persisted into Sunday afternoon, but there’s nothing close to that on the Bay Area’s forecast.
