Mount Tamalpais Water Storage System to be Fortified Against Quakes
From the Marin Independent Journal:
“The first stage of a plan is under way to spend $23 million to overhaul of parts of the Marin Municipal Water District water storage network on Mount Tamalpais to guard against earthquakes. … At issue are Pine Mountain Tunnel, built in 1918, and the Ross Reservoir, built in 1929, which hold water for thousands of ratepayers in central and southern Marin.
“Both are aging and in danger of severe damage in a large earthquake.”
