Lake Shasta’s historic gems emerge as lake levels worsen
With lake levels out at Lake Shasta getting lower, more underwater gems will be visible for the community to explore. As of Tuesday, May 25, Lake Shasta is 106 ft. below regular lake levels. KRCR spoke with both the Bureau of Reclamation and the Shasta Historical Society who each shared some must-see sightings. Out at the Shasta Dam, people can check out what is left of the historic 1940 Headtower that was used to deliver 6.5 million cubic yards of concrete to make up the dam, says the Bureau.
