Two first-time candidates are competing to join the governing board of Marin County’s largest water supplier as it faces critical decisions on how to bolster its water supplies. University of California Berkeley lecturer Shana Katzman and venture capital firm CEO Jed Smith, both of Mill Valley, are competing for the Division 4 seat on the Marin Municipal Water District Board of Directors in the Nov. 8 election. Division 4 represents the Mill Valley area, Sausalito, Marin City, Muir Woods, the north and south slopes of Mount Tamalpais as well areas near Corte Madera and Tiburon.
