Commentary: Proposed Chromium-6 Standard Makes State an Expensive Choice
From The Desert Sun, in a commentary by Gretchen Gutierrez:
“In the Coachella Valley, chromium-6 is a naturally occurring element of drinking water with a scientifically determined safe level. However, if the state adopts the proposed 10 ppb standard, approximately half our valley’s wells will require costly treatment. The latest figures coming from our water agencies is that we can expect to add $50 or more every month to our water bills.”
