Commentary: Carlsbad Desal Project Passes One-year Construction Milestone
From U-T San Diego, in a commentary by Matt Hall & Thomas V. Wornham:
“California is entering what appears to be a third straight dry year — so dry that some sectors of the state are calling for emergency measures and enacting water-use restrictions.
“We are thankful that San Diego County isn’t at that point, in large part because of our region’s legacy of leadership in taking steps to stretch and diversify our water supplies. … Building on that tradition, the San Diego County Water Authority, Poseidon Water, Kiewit Shea Desalination contractors and local governments have successfully partnered to complete the first year of construction on the next major piece of the region’s water supply diversification program: The Carlsbad Desalination Project.”
