2024 Water Leader Applications Now Open:
Are you an up-and-coming leader in the water world? Applications are now available for our 2024 Water Leaders class, and they come with a Dec. 5, 2023 deadline.
If interested in applying, start by checking out the program requirements; make sure you have the time to commit to the program next year and approval from your organization to apply.
Then sign up here to join a virtual Q&A session on Oct. 31 at 12:30 p.m. with Jenn Bowles, our executive director, and other Foundation team members to get an overview of the program and advice on applying.

A limited amount of scholarship funding is available, including one from the Association of California Water Agencies for an employee of a water district that is an ACWA member.
Agenda Posted for Oct. 25 Water Summit:
An agenda is now posted for Taking on the Improbable in Western Water, the Water Education Foundation’s 2023 Water Summit, set for Wednesday, Oct. 25, in downtown Sacramento. Tickets to our premier annual event are going quickly so reserve your spot soon. Foundation members can take advantage of a $100 discount on registration!
Now in its 39th year, the Water Summit will gather leading experts and top policymakers for conversations about recent and ongoing changes in Western water management considered unlikely just a decade ago — and what we might expect in the near future.
Lively discussions will focus on topics such as:
- The nation’s largest dam removal project now taking place along the Klamath River
- A reflection on California’s ongoing effort to achieve groundwater sustainability
- Developments in water management in the Colorado River Basin
