9 Ventura County water agencies meet 15% conservation goal
Amid a years-long drought, the only Ventura County agencies that reached the state’s goal of 15% water savings in June were those with one-day-a-week watering restrictions. The Metropolitan Water District of Southern California supplies those communities in Ventura County with Northern California water delivered by the State Water Project. After a record dry start to the year, the state limited its deliveries to just 5%. In response, the mega-district required those customers and others in Los Angeles and San Bernardino counties to cut outdoor watering as of June 1 or find other ways to conserve.
