Description: Santa Clara Valley Water District is pleased to announce another FREE Project WET workshop! Water quality is an important issue here in the Bay Area with many contributing factors leading to pollution in our waterways and ending up in the San Francisco and Monterey Bays. Come learn some fun ways to explore water quality with your students and enjoy a tour at the Silicon Valley Advanced Water Purification Center (SVAWPC) near Alviso, CA.
We are targeting upper grade educators (5th grade and up) due to the subject matter content as well as the fact that the field trips offered to the Purification Center are currently only for 5th grade and up. If you are a lower grade teacher/educator, and still want to attend, please feel free to register; however, priority will be given to educators teaching upper grade students. If we have enough interest from lower grade teachers, we will announce an additional training date.
In addition to the tour, participants experience Project WET activities that are focused on water quality, a free copy of the Project WET Guide 2.0 with access to over 110 water focused activities, learn about Project WET’s new detailed NGSS correlations and field trip opportunities for your class at the Advanced Purification Center!
