Description: UC Merced, Extension Programs and Merced County Office of Education invite all Atwater area teachers to experience water education and Next Generation Science Standard practices in action with activities that will engage your students in the study of the San Joaquin watershed and water conservation! In the workshop, participants will:
• Receive a free copy of the NGSS aligned Project WET Guide 2.0
• Receive free access to the Project WET Online portal for additional resources
• Learn about the Next Generation Science Standards
• Experientially learn how to implement hands-on activities into their classroom through doing the activities in the workshop
• Learn new, creative teaching strategies
• Address water from the widest possible angle with Project WET modules and existing regional water education programs bringing local issues into focus
• Join educators in promoting the tenet of “water for all water users”
