Yung-Hsin Sun – Secretary
Yung-Hsin Sun is chief water resources engineer with Stantec, where he has worked since 2001. Dr. Sun is a principal engineer with 29 years of experience leading, managing, and planning large-scale water resource projects for flood management, water supply and ecosystem restoration.
Based in Sacramento, he also has served as a senior strategic adviser for the California Department of Water Resources on a number of projects, including the California Water Plan Update 2018. In addition, he has served as a senior consultant for the Bureau of Reclamation’s San Joaquin River Restoration Program and American River Basin Study, and assisted several state agencies in developing a long-term water conservation and drought-planning framework.
He is a 1986 graduate of the National Chiao Tung University, in Hsinchu, Taiwan, and in 1994 received his doctorate in civil and environmental engineering from UCLA.
He joined the Water Education Foundation board in 2018.
