DWR Approves Funding to Strengthen 90 Miles of Delta Levees
From the Association of California Water Agencies (ACWA):
“The Department of Water Resources (DWR) announced today [July 24] that it has approved nearly $30 million in funding for 14 reclamation district projects in the Sacramento-San Joaquin Delta that will strengthen nearly 90 miles of levees.
“The projects – which are intended to bolster flood protection – will be funded through the Delta Special Flood Control Projects’ Hazard Mitigation Plan (HMP) Levee Repair and Improvement Project Solicitation Package (PSP). The projects include landslide levee repair, all-weather road construction, erosion repair and mitigation for any habitat damage.”
