Commentary: Twin Tunnels Ensure Reliability of Water Supply
From U-T San Diego:
“The U-T San Diego Editorial Board in recent weeks met separately with proponents and opponents of Gov. Jerry Brown’s $23 billion proposal to build two 30-mile-long tunnels that would make it easier to move water from Northern California to farms and cities in the south and other parts of the state — an issue of critical importance to San Diego, which still relies mostly on imported water sources for its supply. …
“Supporters of the BDCP who met with the board included Jerry Meral, deputy secretary of the California Natural Resources Agency; Rich Atwater, executive director of the Southern California Water Committee; Mike Wade, executive director of the California Farm Water Coalition; and Gary Arant, general manager of the Valley Center Municipal Water District. Here are condensed and edited excerpts of the interviews.”
