Commentary: Outdoor Recreation will Be Hard-pressed to Stay Afloat
From the San Francisco Chronicle in the Outdoors column by Tom Stienstra:
“As winter takes hold, these pretty days, one after another, are adding up to a pending crisis for lake levels, recreation, boating and the coming year’s outdoor vacation season across the state, as well as all industries that depend on water. …
“There’s still plenty of time, of course, with most precipitation historically arriving in January and February, to fill up the lakes and pack the high country with snow. But the scary thing, as most remember, is that last winter’s rains dried up to near nothing in January.”
