Blog: San Joaquin River’s First Salmon Festival is Huge Success
From the Natural Resources Defense Council (NRDC) staff Switchboard blog, in a post by Monty Schmitt:
“Last weekend, members of the San Joaquin River Partnership including NRDC, Trout Unlimited and the Parkway Trust hosted a salmon festival at Lost Lake Park near Fresno, right below Friant Dam. Over 300 people of all ages and representing the diversity of the local community came out to learn about efforts to restore the San Joaquin River and celebrate the return of salmon.”
A San Joaquin River Restoration Tour Nov. 6-7 will be among the field trips offered by the Water Education Foundation in 2014. The Foundation’s tours are field trips that offer participants a firsthand look at the water facilities, rivers and regions critical in the debate about the future of water resources. And the tours are praised for being balanced, thorough and fun.
Registration for its eight tours is now open! Learn more at this link.
