BDCP Public Meeting Examines Project’s Cost, Funding, Impact on Species
From the Association of California Water Agencies (ACWA):
“Officials with the California Natural Resources Agency hosted a public meeting today [July 17] that focused on the costs and funding sources for new water conveyance facilities and habitat restoration proposed in the Bay Delta Conservation Plan (BDCP) as well as its impact on endangered species. …
“State and federal officials outlined the components of the BDCP, saying it was needed to meet the coequal goals of habitat restoration and water supply reliability. Numerous members of the public criticized the plan, however, saying the project would hurt the Delta and some of its fish species and may cost the state more than officials estimate.”
