“With just four years left until the Salton Sea begins to shrink more rapidly, state officials still have no estimate of how much it will cost to alleviate the predicted clouds of dust and other hazards along its receding shores.
“A state audit released Thursday now calls for a thorough estimate of the costs California is going to bear for environmental damage under the water transfer deal that will reduce inflows to the lake after 2017.”
