Assembly Member Rendon to Keynote Foundation’s March 27 Briefing
Register today to attend the Water Education Foundation’s March 27 Executive Briefing in Sacramento. This one-day event, “The 2014 Water Playbook: What You Need to Know,” includes discussions of the most talked-about water issues this year:
- The Bay Delta Conservation Plan (BDCP): Is it Ripe for a Solution?
- California Groundwater: Tapping Out
- California Drought 2014
Speakers on the BDCP panel represent the state Department of Water Resources, and the water export, in-Delta, Delta upstream, and environmental communities.
Moderating the BDCP panel will be Amy Quinton, the environmental reporter for Capital Public Radio.
Issues related to groundwater overdraft, subsidence, legislation and even potential adjudication will be the focus of the California Groundwater: Tapping Out panel, which will be moderated by Lester Snow, executive director of the California Water Foundation.
The California Drought 2014 panel will provide you with the most-recent facts about the state’s dire hydrologic condition as well as the policy issues related to coping with this year’s drought – and what might happen if 2015 also is dry.
Lunchtime speaker Assembly Member Anthony Rendon (D-Lakewood), Chair of the Assembly Water, Parks and Wildlife Committee, will address the question “Will there be a Bond on Your 2014 Ballot?”
Don’t miss this exciting event, which will be held at the Red Lion Hotel Woodlake and Conference Center, 500 Leisure Lane, in Sacramento.
