Zanjero: Aquafornia Water Word of the Week
Aquafornia’s Water Word of the Week is zanjero, a newly added water term on sister site Aquapedia, the Water Education Foundation’s vetted, online water encyclopedia.
According to the Aquapedia entry: “Zanjero — an official or superintendent in charge of water supplies, or one who maintains irrigation canals (from zanja, the Spanish word for ditch or trench).”
Developed and managed by the Foundation, Aquapedia aims to provide teachers, students, journalists, water professionals, policymakers and the general public with balanced information. In addition to water terms, Aquapedia also includes timelines, videos, photos, bios about historical water people, a directory of water interests, and a Useful Acronyms section.
