Water Agencies Inch Toward Consolidation

“We at The Watchdog have been bellyaching for years about the oft-redundant patchwork of special districts blanketing Orange County. …
“Well, these things move at a glacial pace, and as it’s almost officially winter, we happily update you on the motion of said glacier: The union which would marry the now-embattled Orange County Water District (which manages the ground water basin primarily for North County) and the once-embattled Municipal Water District of Orange County (which buys expensive imported water and resells it primarily to South County), is, well, a wee bit closer to actually happening! In, like, 2016!”
