Ronald B. Robie: Aquafornia Water Word of the Week
“Ronald B. Robie, an associate justice of the 3rd District Court of Appeal in Sacramento, is the recipient of the National Center for State Courts’ Distinguished Service Award, one of the highest honors bestowed by the organization,” was an excerpt from an article in The Sacramento Bee. He is also featured in the Historical Water People section of Aquapedia, the Water Education Foundation’s free vetted, interactive online water encyclopedia.
This week, Aquafornia’s Water Word of the Week from sister site Aquapedia is Ronald B. Robie.
According to excerpts from the Aquapedia entry, “Ronald B. Robie, an associate justice on the California Court of Appeal, Third Appellate District, has made his mark on state water issues during a career in public service that has spanned all three branches of government. … He was chosen by the Water Education Foundation’s Anne J. Schneider Foundation to give the [2012] inaugural lecture in the memory of Anne Schneider in support of the foundation’s efforts to encourage professional and personal commitment to water law and policy. Toward the conclusion of his speech, titled ‘What Is, What Has Been, And What Ought To Be,” he said, ‘You owe a duty to do as Anne did, to seek comprehensive and fair-minded solutions for the intractable water issues that we face every day, and that we will face more and more as our great state continues to grow.’”
This year’s Anne J. Schneider Foundation Lecture Series is Tuesday, April 29.
In addition to bios of historical water people, Aquapedia also includes water-related terms, videos, photos, maps, timelines, a directory of water interests, and acronyms.
